However, some health insurance plans require a physician referral in order to reimburse you for physiotherapy sessions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/liveactivephysio.ca\/?page_id=25323&amp;fl_builder&amp;fl_builder_ui_iframe\">How long will it take to get better?<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is something that is unique to each individual as there are many factors that affect recovery. Even if people have similar injuries, each individual\u2019s situation is different. This is why it is important to work with your physiotherapist to identify the different factors that will affect your recovery and develop an individualized treatment plan.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/liveactivephysio.ca\/?page_id=25323&amp;fl_builder&amp;fl_builder_ui_iframe\">How long after an injury should I seek Physiotherapy services?<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In general, the sooner you seek treatment after an injury, the better.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/liveactivephysio.ca\/?page_id=25323&amp;fl_builder&amp;fl_builder_ui_iframe\">What are the fees for physiotherapy services?<\/a><\/p>\n<p>An initial physiotherapy assessment that is approximately 1 hour in length is $120. Follow-up sessions are typically 30 minutes and cost $90. If you require a longer follow-up session, 45 minute treatment sessions are $120.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/liveactivephysio.ca\/?page_id=25323&amp;fl_builder&amp;fl_builder_ui_iframe\">Do you direct bill to insurance companies?<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Some, please contact for a list. For others I provide you with a receipt with all the required information for you to submit to your insurance provider to be reimbursed.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/liveactivephysio.ca\/?page_id=25323&amp;fl_builder&amp;fl_builder_ui_iframe\">What payment methods do you accept?<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I accept cash, e-transfer, debit, credit or cheque.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/liveactivephysio.ca\/?page_id=25323&amp;fl_builder&amp;fl_builder_ui_iframe\">What can I expect at my first appointment and how should I prepare for it?<\/a><\/p>\n<p>At the initial assessment, we will discuss a detailed history of your injury\/concern. We will go over what your goals are with regards to physiotherapy intervention, do a physical assessment involving various movements, range of motion, and strength to help identify the issue, and develop a comprehensive treatment plan.<\/p>\n<p>Tips to make the most of your visit:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Arrive on time. If you are late, you are taking time away from your assessment\/treatment time.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">If you have a lower body injury, bring or wear shorts<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">If you have a shoulder\/upper body injury, wear a loose fitting t-shirt or tank top<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Do not hesitate to ask questions<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">If you do have a doctor\u2019s referral, particularly post-surgery, bring it with you<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/liveactivephysio.ca\/?page_id=25323&amp;fl_builder&amp;fl_builder_ui_iframe\">Is physiotherapy covered by OHIP?<\/a><\/p>\n<p>There are certain clinics that are registered to provide physiotherapy services to individuals over 65 or under 18 through OHIP.
